Veritas Pension Insurance Company appoints new CIO

Laura Wickström has been promoted to CIO from deputy CIO, following Kari Vatanen’s resignation.

The $4.9bn Veritas
Pension Insurance Company has promoted Laura
Wickström as its new CIO, starting July 1.

In the role,
Wickström
will be working with Carl Haglund, CEO of Veritas. She succeeds Kari Vatanen as
a CIO.

Vatanen
stepped down in April to join pension insurance company Elo as the head of
allocations, from November.

“Laura has
precisely the experience and market understanding that is required in this
demanding position,” says Carl Haglund, CEO of Veritas.

Prior to this,
Wickström
served at the deputy CIO and portfolio manager for more than
six years at the system.

Alongside working
as a CIO, Wickström
continues to work as a board member at Mat ja Tor
Nesslingin Saatio, LLV Fund Management and Exilion Tuuli GP Oy, according to
her LinkedIn profile.

She has also
worked as a CEO for almost four years at AIM Capital OY. She joined AIM Capital
as a vice president and partner for client relationships and product
development in 2009.
