Santa Clara University appoints a new CIO

The new CIO will be succeeding John Kerrigan

The $1.55bn
Santa Clara University has promoted Frank Tessier as chief investment officer.

Tessier has
been with the system as investment director since 2021. He will be succeeding
John
Kerrigan, who announced his retirement after 22 years of being in the role.

During Kerrigan’s tenure, the endowment grew from $425m to
$1.55bn. Over the past decade, the endowment has performed in the top decile of
U.S. endowment of $1bn.

Prior to
joining the endowment, Tessier was serving as a senior portfolio manager at
Radar Partners, and he started his career at Makena Capital Management, where
he focused on asset allocation and portfolio construction.

“As CIO, Frank Tessier will do a superb job focusing on the
endowment’s performance and maintaining robust relationships with key
stakeholders,” said Kerrigan, in a statement.

Tessier
earned a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering and finance from Washington
and Lee University and got his MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business.
