Gary
Draghi, the chief investment officer for the City of Hartford’s Office
of Treasurer announced his retirement on LinkedIn on Thursday.

While
his successor is yet to be announced, he will continue working with the Treasurer’s
Office in a consulting role for the foreseeable future.

Draghi
worked with P. Wayne Moore, the deputy CIO and J. Sean Antoine, the senior
portfolio manager during his tenure.

As CIO, I was privileged
to partner with Treasurers Sierra and Cloud to develop and implement efficient,
risk aware portfolios that resulted in successful investment programs for the
fund,” said Draghi in his LinkedIn post.

Draghi
succeeded Gary Carter, who left the system in 2011 and took over the role of
interim deputy CIO at Connecticut Retirement Plans & Trust Funds.

It has been my pleasure
to serve in that role for over thirteen years and I greatly enjoyed the
eighteen years spent in that office serving under three distinguished City
Treasurers,” he wrote in his post.

Before
joining City of Hartford, he served as the principal investment officer at
State of Connecticut Retirement Plans and Trust Funds for almost sixteen years.

He
has also worked as a senior consultant at Deloitte & Touche for five years,
in the beginning of his career.
