CIO Brian Collett to Retire From Missouri LAGERS

The Missouri Local Government Employees Retirement System (LAGERS) has announced the retirement of Brian Collett, Chief Investment Officer (CIO), effective January 31, 2024.  

The Missouri Local Government Employees Retirement System (LAGERS) has announced the retirement of Brian Collett, Chief Investment Officer (CIO), effective January 31, 2024.  

Since joining LAGERS in 2005 as its inaugural Chief Investment Officer, Mr. Collett has been instrumental in the organization’s expansion. His leadership, vision, and commitment have significantly contributed to LAGERS’ growth, with assets under management increasing from $2.9 billion to $10.1 billion. As of September 30, 2023, the 15-year return under his stewardship stands at 8.5%, outperforming the benchmark by 1.8%.

LAGERS intends to engage an executive search firm to facilitate the selection of the next Chief Investment Officer (CIO) for the organization. In the interim, Deputy Chief Investment Officer Megan Loehner will assume responsibility for the day-to-day management of the portfolio. Additionally, RVK Advisors will continue to serve as LAGERS’ Board Investment Consultant. The organization expresses gratitude for Mr. Collett’s significant contributions and extends best wishes for his future endeavors.
