Lou Fernandes Becomes The Museum of Modern Art’s New CIO

The CIO was poached from NYU.

The Museum
of Modern Art hired Lou Fernandes as their new Chief Investment Officer, luring
him away from his 6-year post as New York University’s managing director. He’ll
manage the $1.8 billion in endowment, pension and retirement plans. Fernandes
takes over for Tony Wai, who left mid-year in 2022. Fernandes also worked as an
OCIO for Hall Capital partners, and in finance at
Yahoo!,
McAfee, and Intel Corp. He holds a bachelors degree in business and managerial
economics from the University of California, Davis; an MBA from Stanford
University School of Business and an MA in Education Policy, also from Stanford
University.
