The Museum
of Modern Art hired Lou Fernandes as their new Chief Investment Officer, luring
him away from his 6-year post as New York University’s managing director. He’ll
manage the $1.8 billion in endowment, pension and retirement plans. Fernandes
takes over for Tony Wai, who left mid-year in 2022. Fernandes also worked as an
OCIO for Hall Capital partners, and in finance at Yahoo!,
McAfee, and Intel Corp. He holds a bachelors degree in business and managerial
economics from the University of California, Davis; an MBA from Stanford
University School of Business and an MA in Education Policy, also from Stanford
University.
