Karen Mazza has
resigned as deputy executive director of the New York City Employees’ Retirement System, according to her post on LinkedIn.
In her post, Mazza did not reveal her next position
but called working for NYCERS “a wonderful public service career.”
Reached via LinkedIn, Mazza noted she had “no immediate plan” for her next career step.
“Just retirement,” she wrote.
NYCERS is a pension fund within the New York City Retirement System. NYCERS did not respond to a phone call for comment.
Mazza became deputy executive director of the
system in November 2016 when she replaced Diane D’Alessandro, who left NYCERS after a decade-long
career.
A lawyer who graduated from Elisabeth Haub
School of Law at Pace University, Mazza joined NYCERS in 1992. She had worked
as general counsel for NYCERS from 1997 to 2016.
