Penn State ‘Interviewing’ for Next Deputy CIO

Sonali Dalal is leaving PSU for the University of St. Thomas.

Penn State University is
“in the process of interviewing” for its office of investment management,
including its soon-to-be vacated deputy chief investment officer position.

 

The $4.5 billion college endowment
confirmed Sonali Dalal was leaving to be CIO of the $900 million University
of St. Thomas
in St. Paul, Minn., said Wyatt DuBois, assistant director,
university of public relations for PSU. DuBois said the endowment is
interviewing candidates with unique experience across each asset class. He
declined to elaborate on who PSU was interviewing.

Dalal will exit Penn State in
August. She joined PSU in 2002 as senior investment analyst. Dalal has also
been chief investment strategist for the college endowment from 2016 to 2018.

 

Dalal is an alum of Penn State,
where she received her MBA in finance. She is also a chartered financial
analyst (CFA). Dalal began her Wall Street career with Export Import Bank of
India
in 1996.
