NewEdge Names First CIO

The Connecticut startup awarded CFA Cameron Dawson its inaugural C-suite position.

NewEdge Wealth named Cameron
Dawson
chief investment officer, making her the first CIO for the
year-and-a-half old ultra-high-net-worth investment adviser.

 

Prior to joining NewEdge Wealth in
the spring of 2021, Dawson served as chief market strategist for Fieldpoint
Private
, a $5 billion private wealth manager headquartered in Greenwich,
Connecticut.   

 

Dawson is a chief financial
analyst (CFA) who began her Wall Street career in 2012 as portfolio management
associate with U.S. Trust, overseeing $1 billion as its real estate
investment trust (REIT) analyst.  

 

She left U.S. Trust in 2014 to
join its owner, Bank of America Private Bank, as senior equity analyst
and CIO before joining Fieldpoint Private in 2020.

 

In addition to her position as CIO
of NewEdge Wealth, she will be a member of the company’s investment advisor
board, which includes Leon Cooperman, CEO of Omega Family Office,
as well as Robert Matza, retired president of GoldenTree Asset
Management

 

NewEdge Wealth is a division of
$32 billion private wealth manager NewEdge Capital Group, a business
unit of EdgeCo, a fintech provider with $160 billion under
administration.
