Guneet Banga

Executive Director, The Caravel Group

Co-Founder and Managing Partner, Parinama Group

Guneet Banga is Co-Founder and Managing Partner of the Parinama Group, an Indian entity focused on sustainability and climate change tech development, ecosystem building and strategic advisory. Parinama aims to bring to market high-ESG impact climate technologies utilising India’s intrinsic strengths, and then scale and syndicate solutions to other developing countries. Parinama will play a central role in establishing and expanding the Indian Climate Impact Investing Tech Ecosystem announced late last year at CITIS.

Separately, Mr Banga has been an Executive Director of The Caravel Group, a global maritime, commodities and asset management conglomerate, since its inception in 2012. Through this role he has focused on increasing the Group’s involvement in sustainability, climate change and impact investing. He runs Caravel Sustainable Investments, which invests in public and private markets through equities, ETFs, thematic baskets, and fixed income via green and blue bond baskets and single issuer instruments.

Prior to his time at The Caravel Group with his family, Guneet was a Vice President in the Capital Markets Origination division with Citi, where he was responsible for primary equity and equity-linked origination and execution from India, South Korea and Southeast Asian markets.

Driven to raise awareness and support practical actions to address sustainability issues, Mr Banga is an active public speaker and serves on the Board of the Sustainable Finance Initiative in Hong Kong and numerous working groups within the Global Impact Investing Network and the Indian Impact Investing Council.

He is a World Economic Forum Impact Circle member and thrives in engaging with fellow corporate leaders and philanthropists as part of the collective call for action on climate change and the environment.

Mr Banga also devotes his time as a Board member for the Zubin Foundation, a Hong Kong-based think tank and charity committed to improving the lives of Hong Kong’s ethnic minority community.

Mr Banga has an MBA in Finance and Strategic Management from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. He also has an AB in Economics and Certificate in East Asian Studies and Finance from Princeton University, where he is a member of its President’s Circle giving society.

In terms of sustainability credentials, Mr Banga holds GRI and PRI professional sustainability certifications and has completed the ESG Specialization Program from the Corporate Finance Initiative. He has received numerous certifications in ESG, impact investing and sustainability from Cambridge, Harvard and other leading universities.

Alaric is currently the Chief Investment Officer at CMB Wing Lung Insurance, responsible for setting and executing investment strategies and ensure proper risk management. Previously, he was the Chief Executive Officer at CMB Wing Lung Asset Management, and before that held various investment roles covering multiple asset classes in Westpac, Acacia Capital, Nomura Securities, Lehman Brothers, JP Morgan etc. Alaric received his MBA in University of British Columbia, and his bachelor’s degree in Pennsylvania State University.

Christian is the Regional Head of ALM, Investment & Capital Management for Asia at Ageas. He used to manage the balance sheet assets of approx. AUD 6 billion for Zurich Australia. Prior to this, he was the CIO of the Emerging Market countries for MetLife Asia Investment in 2011 as the CIO of HK to manage the asset for HK entity, he moved to the regional office in MetLife in 2014 and headed up the 6 emerging market countries for MetLife in Asia as the Emerging Market CIO. The emerging countries are including Australia, HK, Malaysia, Vietnam, Bangladesh and Nepal. He has been managing Insurance assets for over 10 years and been in the investment management industry for 23 years.

Dennis is the Chief Investment Officer of YF Life and is responsible for the overall investment functions, including strategic & tactical asset allocation, portfolio management, and hedging of YF Life’s investment portfolio. He oversees the investment strategies and performance of various asset classes including high-grade fixed income, public equity, and alternative investments managed by the internal team and
external asset managers. Since Dennis joined YF Life, he revamped the investment management process with the introduction of an end-to-end investment system, allowing technology-enabled investment decision-making processes to improve investment performance and risk management efficiency. He is also actively involved in providing investment & hedging solutions internally to drive insurance product design, risk capital, and solvency management.


Dennis has over 19 years of experience in various investment organizations including insurance companies, asset management firms, private equity fund managers, and family offices. He has extensive knowledge and experience in multi-asset management. He holds a Bachelor of Economics & Finance from the University of Hong Kong and is also a holder of Chartered Financial Analyst and Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst designations.

She holds an MBA with Distinction from the Johnson Graduate School of Management at Cornell University and a double major Honours BA in Economics and Philosophy from the University of Toronto.

Roman Novozhilov is the Head of ESG Division at the New Development Bank. He has over 20 years of global experience in environmental, social, and governance matters. He joined the Shanghai-based NDB in 2017 to start its ESG Division and is responsible for integrating ESG aspects in NDB’s credit and equity products and for delivering ESG advisory services to NDB’s clients. Before joining NDB, he worked for the International Finance Corporation (IFC) in Washington, D.C., Johannesburg and Hong Kong, focusing on managing the ESG risks of IFC’s investments. Before that, he held various roles in sustainability policy research at the World Bank in Washington, D.C. Mr. Novozhilov holds a Ph.D. from American University (Washington D.C.) and an M.A. from Lancaster University (UK).
