Chief Investment Officer and Head of Discretionary Portfolio Management

Gareth joined Nomura in 2021 as Chief Investment Officer and Head of Discretionary Portfolio Management for International Wealth Management. Gareth works closely with Nomura’s Global Markets and Investment Banking businesses to expand the firm’s product offerings and spearhead a streamlined, solutions-driven coverage effort for high-net-worth clients, external asset managers and family offices. With a strong institutional investment background, he creates and manages DPM strategies for fixed income, equity and multi-asset portfolios, while providing risk management support. Gareth has over 16 years of experience in financial markets. Prior to Nomura, he was Head of Fixed Income DPM at Bank of Singapore, where he was also a member of its investment committee. Before that, he was with Aberdeen Standard Investments for almost 10 years as a fixed income trader and an Asian credit portfolio manager. Gareth holds a BSc in Financial Mathematics from the University of Johannesburg. He was born and raised in East London, South Africa.

Kevin Gin is the Founder and Managing Director of Alpha Capital Family Office. He focuses on valuation anomalies and believes in detailed research and analysis, working with a group of like-minded professionals within his investment ecosystem that lead to investment decisions. Kevin brings with him more than 30 years of investment experience and was the Head of Greater China Property Research with Yuanta Securities (Hong Kong). Prior to Yuanta, Kevin was the SVP with Pacific Star Financial (a subsidiary of Pacific Star Group). Kevin was also the Chief Operating Officer of CITIC Securities (formerly known as CITIC Frontier China Research), Managing Director of Matrix Venture Capital, Director of Matrix Venture Catalyst, Director of Kleinwort Benson Securities Asia, Head of Regional Property and Singapore Country research.

Arnulfo “Noli” de Pala, Executive Director, joined TriLake Partners as Chief Investment Officer in 2016. Noli has worked in the financial services industry across four continents for over 30 years. After working with AXA as a financial consultant in Los Angeles, he joined UnionBank of the Philippines in 1996 where he served as the bank’s Trust Officer and later, the Head of Market Risk Management. In 2002 he moved to HSBC where he handled marketing, product development and training for the wealth management business. He was then assigned to HSBC’s offshore headquarters in Jersey in the British Channel Islands to train the financial advisers of HSBC’s offshore offices around the world from 2005 to 2008. Noli returned to Manila to head HSBC’s trust department before joining EastWest Bank where he was the Trust Officer and Chief Investment Officer. Noli graduated cum laude from the University of the Philippines School of Economics and has taught Advanced Investment Management in the master’s program in Finance of the College of Business Administration. He earned his CFA® charter in 2001 and is a founding member and former President of the CFA Society of the Philippines. He remains an active volunteer with the CFA Program and has served CFA Institute in various working committees for the last fifteen years. He speaks fluent English and Filipino and is a frequent guest on financial programmes on radio and television.

Originally from Singapore with a business family, Rebekah has more than 20 years of global multi-asset investing in funds, co-investments and directs across government, institutions such as J.P. Morgan, CDPQ, Fosun and multibillion-dollar family offices in the US and Asia. Rebekah is currently Managing Director, Private Markets and Funds with Farro Capital, a multibillion-dollar multi-family office with a presence in Singapore, Dubai, and India. With degrees from LSE, Yale, CFA, CAIA, Rebekah is a recognised adjunct trainer at Business Families Institute (BFI), Wealth Management Institute (WMI) as well as Board Director / Committee member at leading organisations and companies, such as BANSEA, Singapore Institute of Directors (SID).

Stefanie Holtze-Jen is the Asia Pacific Chief Investment Officer for the Private Bank. Before her appointment in 2021, Holtze-Jen was Global Chief Currency Strategist, Portfolio Manager, at Deutsche Bank’s asset management arm DWS, where she coordinated a team covering currency macro, positioning and technical analysis, which guided the portfolio managers’ foreign-exchange strategy. Based in Singapore, she is responsible for the development of the Asia insights and contribution to the house view of Deutsche Bank Private Bank. Prior to DWS, Holtze-Jen held different leadership roles at Commerzbank AG and Royal Bank of Canada in Hong Kong, Singapore, and London. Holtze-Jen is a member of the Singapore Foreign Exchange Committee of the Monetary Authority of Singapore.

Zhe Wei leads private markets investments across Private Credit, Private Equity and Real Estate at Income Insurance Limited (“Income”). Prior to joining Income, Zhe Wei was a Vice President in GIC’s Asia Private Equity Funds & Co-Investments team in Singapore, after having started his Investment Banking career at Credit Suisse in Australia and Hong Kong. Zhe Wei holds a Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Laws from the University of Melbourne.
