Fadi BouSamra is stepping down after 20 years of working at the pension to pursue new opportunities

By Muskan Arora

Fadi
BouSamra is stepping down as CIO of $4.1 billion Nashville (Tenn) &
Davidson County Metropolitan Government Employees Benefit Trust Fund, with his
last day being May 31.

BouSamra
has been working at the pension fund for over 20 years, prior to that, he was a registered investment advisor at Superior Capital Management for almost four
years.

An
internal memo, obtained by Pensions & Investments, stated that after
bringing the pension fund to a fully funded status with over 20 years of
governance, BouSamra has decided to pursue other opportunities.

“His strategic insights and meticulous
approach have significantly contributed to the financial success of the metro
and pension investment portfolios,” said Bosch in an internal memo.

“He leaves a legacy of a fully funded
pension plan, setting new ethical standards, a disciplined investment approach
and opportunistic financial management.”

The
investment committee will next convene on May 23 to discuss the next steps.

Markets Group has reached out to BouSamra for a comment.
